  You may see people online falsely marketing the Lapponian Herder (Lapinporokoira) as a 'Miniature Shepherd' or 'Mini Shepherd'.  Using these designer labels is a massive red flag for deceptive marketing.   Marketing a Lapponian Herder as a "mini-shepherd" is highly inaccurate. They share no genetic lineage, ancestral heritage, or behavioral traits with European or American shepherds. They are a true northern spitz with an independent, vocal, and resilient working nature uniquely their own. 

Also, AKC FSS registry is just a record-keeper and doesn't take into consideration health tests or age limits.

INVESTIGATE YOUR BREEDER FOR ETHICAL BREEDING PRACTICES

 According to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA), final hip and elbow certifications cannot be issued until a dog is exactly 24 months (2 years) of age. Breeding any male (stud) or female (dam) before 2 years old means they have not cleared final joint testing. Always verify a dog's age and passing scores by searching their registered name directly on the OFA Database.
